There was a time not so long ago

I swore I’d never let you go

And all the stars up in the sky

Could never shine like you and I

If ever two and one had been

Then surely you and I my friend

We had the chance, we let it go

As to why I just don’t know

 

There’s nothing more I’d like to do

Than spend my entire life with you and

Just hold you & kiss you and

Feel your heart next to mine

Back and forth is all I know

Around & around & around we go

Well if this time is the last time

Then maybe we’ll make things right…

 

Is this the way it’s supposed to be?

We never seem to get it right

And here I am again alone tonight

How the hell was I supposed to know?
